Sugary drinks have long been associated with very negative health consequences. And now there is evidence that they affect cancer mortality rates.
All kinds of soda and store-bought juices contain a huge amount of sugar, and it leads to kidney damage, increased blood pressure, obesity and strokes. These drinks are especially dangerous for overweight children. Also included in the list of negative consequences are caries, non-alcoholic fatty hepatosis, gout and type II diabetes.
The American Cancer Society has published the results of a study of sugar-containing beverages. It focused on two important aspects of health – obesity and cancer. New correlations have been revealed that directly link drinks with a high sugar content with cancer, which is provoked by obesity. And this increases the risk of tumor-related deaths by 5%.
Tumors that develop due to an increased body mass index include cancer of the endometrium, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract and female genital organs in postmenopause. More than 900,000 people participated in the study. It has been established that obesity can provoke tumors of the pancreas and intestines, as well as breast cancer.
